DevOps Engineer - Hybrid - Germany

Our client is a digital agency that integrates strategy, design and engineering to drive digital innovation and create outstanding immersive experiences.

They are seeking a german-speaking DevOps Engineer with 3+ years experience, based in Germany. This is a hybrid position that will require occasional travel to one of their city-based offices.

Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the efficiency, security, and reliability of systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Develop and maintain Continuous Delivery/Continuous Deployment  pipelines to automate the software delivery process.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain best practices for data protection and system security.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English, German language proficiency
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure for setting up and managing cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in containerisation technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerised applications.
  • Knowledge of database management systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or others.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Experience with disaster recovery and backup strategies, including backup and restore procedures, replication, and failover mechanisms.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices, including firewalls, SSL/TLS, and encryption.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools built into AWS and Azure, such as AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and security groups in AWS and Azure.
